Assistant Coach

Biography:

The 2019-2020 school year will be my fourteenth year in education and my seventeenth year as a coach.  I am a native of Nevada, MO where I was a 3 sport athlete competing in Football, Wresting, and Track. I played college football at Ottawa University before transferring and graduating from Missouri Southern State University.

At Marshfield my teaching responsibilities include Government and Psychology. My coaching responsibilities include being the Head Coach of the Wrestling program and the Defensive Coordinator of the Football program.

I started my coaching career at Missouri Southern and I spent three seasons on the football staff there. After MSSU I spent six years at Monett High School as the Defensive Coordinator for Football and Assistant Coach for Wrestling. While in Monett we put together a 3 year span in Football that saw us go 27-3 during the regular season. Also while in Monett coaching wrestling I was part of a State Championship in 2008. I next spent two years in Pierce City as the Head Football Coach.

Since coming to Marshfield in 2014 I have worked diligently to help improve both the football and wrestling programs. I believe that our football program is beginning to turn that corner towards success and through tremendous effort of our athletes and coaches I believe the wrestling program has. In wrestling we have posted winning records each of the past five seasons. The 2017-2018 season saw both tremendous team and individual success going 21-2 in duals and having 3 athletes bring home individual All-State honors. Then last year we went 20-6 in duals, sent 5 athletes to state, and brough home another 2 state medals.

I have been married to my wife Amy for 9 years and we have 3 children Cayden (8), Brooklynn (6), and Izzabella (2).

The 2018-2019 school year will be my third year of teaching and first year as head coach.
