Marshfield girls show strength and skill in wrestling tournaments

The Marshfield girls wrestling team have had an impressive run over the last two weeks, taking first place among area teams in the Kinloch Classic tournament at Parkview on Thursday, Dec. 27, and then putting a strong foot forward at the Wonder Woman tournament in Battle on Saturday.
The tournament at Parkview ended in dramatic fashion when the Jays, trailing Buffalo for first place by only a few points, climbed ahead on one match. Laykin Kennemer happened to be facing Buffalo wrestler Jada Watson for third place in the 187 class. Kennemer managed to pin Watson, claiming six points for the team and putting them over the top of Buffalo.
