The Marshfield varsity boys wrestlers were in Union on Friday and Saturday to earn a prestigious third-place spot among a competitive field of Missouri schools.
The Bluejays accumulated 234 team points over the course of the two-day event, placing them behind only Northwest and Logan-Rogersville.
“I could not be more proud of the effort those guys put into this tournament,” said head coach Matt Holt. “With the competition you find at the Union tourney, I would have been happy to get anywhere in the top seven, so to come away with third was above and beyond.”
Senior Clay Wilson piled 39 points onto Marshfield’s heap with a dominant first-place victory in the 182 class competition. The championship is Wilson’s second tournament win in as many weeks.
