Christian Phelps is in his first year as assistant and freshman coach at Marshfield. Previously, Coach Phelps was in the college ranks at Northwest Missouri State University, where he was a graduate assistant basketball coach. During his tenure as a graduate assistant, Coach Phelps helped the Bearcats to a 68-5 record, two conference championships, two conference tournament championships and one National Championship. Before being a graduate assistant, Coach Phelps was a manger for four years for the bearcats, helping with everything behind the scenes of the program and helping coaching when he could. During his tenure as the manager, the Bearcats went an incredible 100-31, three Sweet Sixteen’s, four 20-win seasons, three conference championships, and one conference tournament championship. In addition to helping the bearcats out during his four years as a manager, Coach Phelps also coached at a numerous amounts of basketball camps that include: Ohio State, Mizzou, Creighton, Wisconsin, Iowa State, Baylor, Snow Valley Basketball School, and Midwest Elite Basketball. Coach Phelps is also interested and involved in player development as he did a lot of work with Bearcat players who are now professional players overseas. 

In high school, Coach Phelps played all four years playing basketball, football, and baseball. Getting all-district honors in all three sports. 

Coach Phelps is in a relationship and currently lives in Marshfield, Missouri.
