Coach Carpenter was raised in Doniphan, MO where he was a 4 year varsity athlete and all-state player.  He received a full scholarship to play basketball at Three Rivers College for Hall of Fame coach Gene Bess.  In Carpenter’s two years at Three Rivers the Raiders went a combined 57-13, winning their Region both years and making a Final Four appearance in 2008.

In 2009, Carpenter signed to play basketball at Columbia College University for Hall Of Fame coach Bob Burchard.  After suffering a career changing knee injury, he finished up his degree at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR.

Upon graduation, Coach Carpenter received the Head Coaching position at Doniphan High School.  In his third year, the Dons went undefeated in conference and Carpenter was named conference coach of the year.

After 3 years at Doniphan, Coach Carpenter joined the Kickapoo Chiefs staff in 2016 where the class 5 powerhouse went 26-5, 9-0 in conference play, and finished 3rd in the state.  After a year with Kickapoo, Carpenter joined Hall of Fame Coach Steve Jenkins’ staff at Evangel University for the 2017-2018 season.

Coach Carpenter is entering his first year at Marshfield.  In his young career, Carpenter has seemed to consistently surround himself with hall of fame caliber coaches which have all helped him mold his own style and belief system.  “I am a believer in development. My job is to develop better people, better players, and better programs.”

Coach Carpenter’s wife, Emily, is a physical therapist assistant at Mercy Hospital.  They have 3 daughters. Adley is 7, Anniston is 2, and Alivia was born in July of 2018.
